How to make thick Irish stew?
Here's a recipe for traditional Irish stew:
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds sheep stew meat, cut
into pieces
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut
into chunks
- 4 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup Guinness beer
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:

Heat
the oil in a huge pot or Dutch broiler over medium-high intensity.

Season
the lamb with salt and pepper, then add it to the pot and cook until browned on
all sides.

Eliminate
the sheep from the pot and put it away.
4.
Add
the onions and garlic to the pot and cook until mellowed.
5.
Add
the flour and tomato paste, and stir until well combined.
6.
Slowly
pour in the beef broth and Guinness, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
7.
Add
the potatoes, carrots, thyme, and rosemary, then return the lamb to the pot.

Bring
the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1-2 hours, or
until the lamb is tender and the vegetables are cooked through.

Season
with extra salt and pepper to taste.
