How to prepare Dahi Bhalla?
Here is the
recipe of Dahi Bhalla:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup urad dal
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 2 cups yogurt (dahi)
- 1/2 cup tamarind chutney
- 1/2 cup mint chutney
- Oil for frying
- Water as needed
Instructions:
- Splash urad dal in water for 4-5
hours or short term.
- Drain the water and grind the
dal in a blender or food processor with a little water until it becomes a
smooth paste.
- Add salt, cumin seeds, and red
chili powder to the paste and mix well.
- Heat oil in a profound skillet
on medium intensity.
- Using a spoon or your hands,
drop small portions of the batter into the oil and fry until golden brown.
Drain the fried bhallas on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- In a separate bowl, beat the
yogurt until smooth. Add salt and chaat masala to taste.
- Dip the fried bhallas in water
for a few seconds and then squeeze out the excess water gently using your
palms.
- Arrange the bhallas on a serving
plate and pour the beaten yogurt over them.
- Drizzle tamarind and mint
chutney over the yogurt and sprinkle chaat masala on top.
- Serve chilled and enjoy your
delicious dahi bhallas!
