 How to prepare Dahi Bhalla?

Here is the recipe of Dahi Bhalla:



 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup urad dal
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 2 cups yogurt (dahi)
  • 1/2 cup tamarind chutney
  • 1/2 cup mint chutney
  • Oil for frying
  • Water as needed

Instructions:

  1. Splash urad dal in water for 4-5 hours or short term.
  2. Drain the water and grind the dal in a blender or food processor with a little water until it becomes a smooth paste.
  3. Add salt, cumin seeds, and red chili powder to the paste and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a profound skillet on medium intensity.
  5. Using a spoon or your hands, drop small portions of the batter into the oil and fry until golden brown. Drain the fried bhallas on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the yogurt until smooth. Add salt and chaat masala to taste.
  7. Dip the fried bhallas in water for a few seconds and then squeeze out the excess water gently using your palms.
  8. Arrange the bhallas on a serving plate and pour the beaten yogurt over them.
  9. Drizzle tamarind and mint chutney over the yogurt and sprinkle chaat masala on top.
  10. Serve chilled and enjoy your delicious dahi bhallas!
