How to make Falooda at home?
Falooda is a
popular Indian dessert drink that is both refreshing and delicious. Here is a
recipe to make falooda at home:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of milk
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of rose syrup
- 1 tablespoon of basil seeds
(also known as sabja seeds)
- 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 cup of vermicelli noodles
(also known as falooda sev)
- 1/4 cup of chopped fruits
(optional)
- 1 tablespoon of chopped nuts
(optional)
Instructions:
- Soak the basil seeds in water
for 15-20 minutes until they swell up.
- Cook the vermicelli noodles in
boiling water for 5-7 minutes, then rinse with cold water and set aside.
- In a separate saucepan, heat the
milk and sugar together until the sugar dissolves. Let the milk cool down
and then refrigerate.
- Once the milk has cooled, add the
rose syrup and stir well.
- To assemble the falooda, take a
tall glass and add 1 tablespoon of the soaked basil seeds to the bottom.
- Add a few spoonfuls of the
vermicelli noodles on top of the basil seeds.
- Pour the rose-flavored milk over
the noodles.
- Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream
on top of the milk.
- Repeat the layers of basil
seeds, vermicelli noodles, and rose-flavored milk.
- Add the chopped fruits and nuts
on top of the final layer of milk.
- Serve immediately with a long
spoon and a straw.
