Mutton Korma
Mutton Korma Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 kg Mutton, cut into medium-sized pieces
- 2 medium-sized onions, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1 inch piece of ginger, chopped
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp ghee or oil
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro leaves, for
garnish
Instructions:
1.
In a blender,
grind the onions, garlic, and ginger to make a smooth paste.

In an enormous
pan,heat the ghee or oil over medium intensity. Add the onion paste and cook
until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
3.
Add the mutton
pieces and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is
browned on all sides.
4.
Stir in the
coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam
masala powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until fragrant.
5.
Add the cleaved
tomatos and cooked until they are delicate and soft,around 5 minutes.
6.
Stir in the
yogurt, a little at a time, until it is fully incorporated into the mixture.
7.
Add 1 cup of
water and heat to the point of boiling. Reduce heat to low, cover the saucepan
with a lid, and let it simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the mutton is tender.
8.
Stir in the heavy
cream and cook for another 5 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
9.
Season with salt,
to taste.
10. Serve the Mutton Korma hot, garnished with
chopped cilantro leaves. Enjoy with rice or naan bread.
