                                               Chow Mein



Ingredients:

8 oz. dry chow mein noodles

2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or peanut)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, minced

1 small onion, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 cup sliced mushrooms

1 cup shredded carrots

4 oz. sliced meat (chicken, beef, or shrimp)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 teaspoon sugar

2 green onions, sliced

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Cook the chow mein noodles as indicated by the bundle guideline and put away.

Heat the oil in an enormous wok or skillet over high intensity.

Add the garlic and ginger and pan fried food for 30 second.

Add the onion, red and green bell peppers, mushrooms, and carrots, and stir fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Add the sliced meat and stir fry until browned.

Add the cooked noodles to the wok or skillet and stir fry for 1-2 minutes, until the noodles are heated through.

Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, and green onions and stir fry for an additional minute.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the chow mein hot, garnished with additional sliced green onions if desired. Enjoy!
