Chicken Karahi Recipe

Ingredients:

1.5 lbs chicken, cut into small pieces
3 medium sized tomatoes, pureed
1 medium sized onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 inch piece of ginger, grated
1 green chili, chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Salt, to taste
3 tablespoons oil
Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

Heat the oil in a large karahi or wok over medium heat.

Add the cumin seeds and sizzle them for two seconds.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until light golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and sauté for another minute.
Add the chopped green chili and sauté for a few more seconds.
Add the pureed tomatoes and let it cook until the oil starts to separate, about 10 minutes.
Add the chicken pieces to the karahi and let them cook for 5 minutes.
Add the red chilli powder,turmeric,garam masala and powder coriender. And stir well
Add salt to taste.
Let the chicken cook in the tomato and spice mixture until it is fully cooked, about 10-15 minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice, roti, or naan.
